The Dangers of EMF Exposure
Electromagnetic fields (EMFs) are all around us. We are exposed to EMFs daily and the negative effects it imposes on our bodies can be frightening. The radiation exposure can come from cellphones, cell towers, computers, and Wi-Fi. Being that this exposure is indoors and outdoors, it can be difficult to escape.
In the study "Effects of electromagnetic fields exposure on the antioxidant defense system by Elfide Gizem Kivrak, it explains how our antioxidant defense system exists by keeping free radicals (stress, radiation, smoking, alcohol, etc.) to a minimum to help eliminate harmful effects on the body.
Oxidative stress occurs if our antioxidant defense system is unable to prevent the harmful effects of free radicals.[1]
In short, exposure to EMF increases free radicals in the body and weakens your antioxidant defense system, which makes it harder for your body to fight off the negative side effects of free radicals.
One study reported that extremely low exposure to EMF from mobile phones may cause health problems [2].
EMF exposure side effects include:
-
Stress
-
Headaches
-
Tiredness
-
Anxiety
-
Impaired cognitive functions
-
Lack of concentration
-
Increase the risk of infertility
"There is considerable evidence that EMF can affect neural functions in the human brain"[3].

Ways To Reduce EMF Exposure
-
When walking, do not keep your phone in your pocket. Try keeping your phone as far away from the body as possible
-
Do not sleep with your phone near you or under your pillow
-
Put your cell phone on "airplane" mode as much as possible
-
Avoid using products that require Bluetooth technology
-
Shut off your Wi-Fi at night or when you are not using it
-
Avoid using "smart" appliances and "smart" TV's
-
Replace all fluorescent lights in your house with incandescent bulbs.
-
Consider researching EMF protection devices
-
Take magnesium and Vitamin E (tocopherol) supplements
Bottom line: The biological effects of long-term EMF exposure can be frightening to think about, but you have the ability to reduce this daily exposure by taking the steps listed above. Be aware of your environment and do your research.
